The story behind the book

 

A small digital error was at the heart of this project: In July 2025, I learned from Murrough Landon and Anselm Lingnau that the links to Regina's dances on the Strathspey database were no longer working. The reason was quickly found: The Maxglan Gymnastics Club had removed the "Scottish Dance" section from its website, where we had danced together until 2020. This threatened to erase Regina's dances forever.

 

This couldn't happen. Her dances should be made accessible to everyone again. I made it my personal mission to save her life's work. Weeks of despair followed, along with a Sisyphean search. But giving up wasn't an option. Thanks to a crucial tip from Valerie, a former dancer, a miracle occurred: all the dances and videos for Book 1, "Scottish Country Dancing for Beginners," and Book 2, "Own Dances," were found and saved.

 

The project quickly took on a deeper meaning. This book is intended not only to preserve Regina's dances, but also to change lives. Regina lost her battle with ovarian cancer. For this reason, 100% of the proceeds from “Scottish Country Dancing for Beginners” go to the “Hope and Help” fundraising campaign, which we founded together with the Salzburger Krebshilfe. It reminds us of Regina's hope and our will to help. Regina's own appeal for donations follows in Book 2 (expected spring 2027). As a special sign of solidarity, we are offering an exclusive brooch set with Swarovski stones for the book, which was created in collaboration with Breast Cancer Aid.
